I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I did! Now that Thanksgiving has passed, I’m ready for the Christmas season. This year is a little different. We have turned our home into a rental house and are staying with my mom while we search for a new house or land. Staying with family always presents it challenges but I have really enjoyed the challenge of decorating a different house this holiday season! Here are a few things I’ve been cooking up this week.
Joy meets you at the front door. Keep an eye on the blog this next week for the tutorial to make your own joy sign!
I’m in love with Pottery Barns Christmas ornaments. Naturally I’m cruising the store each year to see what new ornaments they have. This is one of my new favorites!
I’ve wanted to do a hot chocolate bar all fall. This was a yummy treat after we finished decorating the tree. They’re easy to do and are fun for holiday get togethers!
You can print this chalkboard print for free here!
I am in love with fresh tree cuts this year. The best part… they’re free! I cut a few lower limbs off our tree once we got it home in the stand. If you don’t purchase a real tree no worries, most store that sell real trees will have a bin of free limbs.
I love the look of mix matched napkins! There is something so perfect with everything not being perfect.
I actually got these pine cones from the Biltmore Estate many years ago. They were everywhere when we were walking to the parking lot. There are the perfect size and shape. I couldn’t help myself. Shhh . . . no telling!
I have had this pillow for a few years now and it migrates to different places around the house each Christmas. This year its in the sitting room. It’s one of my personal favorites.
Everyone needs a little Christmas in their master bedroom. The felt trees were made last year and your guessed it, more free tree cuttings!
A mint wreath in the window of our bedroom. Simple but festive. I hung it from our curtain rod with some burlap ribbon.
Our mini Christmas tree’s in our bedroom. This tree has some of my favorite ornaments.
These are a few things I’ve finished so far. I’ll be sharing some tutorials and other holiday ideas in the next couple weeks. Merry Christmas!
