Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 lg. eggs
  • 1 tsp. orange extract
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. cream of tarter
  • 1 Tbsp. grated orange zest

Orange Glaze

  • 2 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1/4-1/3 cup fresh orange juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. In a mixing bowl, mix together the flour, salt, cream of tarter and baking soda. Set aside.

  3. Using the paddle attachment on your mixer, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until combined. Add the orange extract and vanilla extract.

  5. Slowly add the flour mixture and mix until incorporated. Lastly, add the orange zest and mix until combined.

  6. Use a small, 2 tsp. cookie scoop to shape your cookies. Place 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

  7. Bake for 6-8 minutes or until the edges are very light golden brown. Cool on a cooling rack.

Orange Glaze

  1. In a small bowl, mix the confectioners sugar and orange juice until combined and smooth. (Start with 1/4 cup orange juice, increase if mixture is too thick.)

  2. Drop a small spoon full on the center of each cookie. Allow cookies to finish cooling and store in an air-tight container.
