Whatever happened to the eat-in kitchen? I think there’s still plenty of timeless eat-in kitchens out there and I’ve rounded up a few that are guaranteed to inspire!
In an attempt to procrastinate a little longer on our foyer update I’ve gathered several timeless eat-in kitchens that I think will leave you inspired. The other day I was talking with a friend about houses and different styles that have come and gone over the years and I noticed something. Eat-In kitchens have almost become a thing of the past. So many homes now have a large open kitchen that connects to an open dining room with a large table for eight and family room. I think that’s great if that’s what works for your family but I’m a bit partial to the eat-in kitchen. I grew up with one and we happen to have one in our home now. I like having the smaller dining space reserved for morning coffee drinking, informal dinners and long talks with friends. It’s a place that people naturally gather and I love that!
I decided to round up a few of my favorite eat-in kitchens for you in the hopes that if you have one and you’re less than in love with it these might just change your mind.
Whether you have a large kitchen or small eat-in kitchen there’s always potential for charm and function.

Our eat-in kitchen has always been my favorite spot to sip coffee. I spend more in our breakfast nook than any other place in our home. I love the cozy feel it has.
I just love this kitchen by The Gardener’s Cottage. The use of an area rug creates the perfect dining space within the kitchen.
