I have a two year old son, in case you didn’t know already. All though hunting eggs really has nothing to do with the Easter season, we still find it fun! Charlie hunted eggs for his first time last year. I had purchased a cheap basket from Wal-Mart and filled it with a few things we thought he’d like. By the end of the day that basket had a broken handle. Even though it was cheap, I was still not happy!
This year I decided to do something a little different. Hobby Lobby had all these fun pails and for under $5! When I saw them I knew it was the perfect little pail for eggs.
Unfortunately, they did not come in any fun colors, but that’s what spray paint is for!
After doing two coats, I used my Silhouette Cameo to print out Charlies name as well as two little egg decals. (If you don’t have a Silhouette, you could just stencil on your child’s name.)
After all the letters were on, I added a layer of Mod Podge to prevent them from peeling off.
Once it’s dry, you’re done! I just can’t wait to stuff it full of little goodies. This should be much more durable than a cheap basket and withstand years of use!
“He is not here, for He has risen,” just as He said. – Matthew 28:6
