Deck the halls with our DIY jingle bell wreath this Christmas season. It’s quick and simple to make and is timeless year after year.
I can hardly believe it’s almost time again to ring in the holidays! I’ve been so excited to share this post with all of you the last few days. For some of you I know it’s too soon to be sharing Christmas ideas, but for those who are already decorating or looking for ideas, this post is for you!
I’ve joined a few fellow bloggers today to share some fun DIY décor ideas for the holidays with you. Thanks to Krista from The Happy Housie for hosting us! Today, I’m going to give you the step-by-step tutorial for making cute mini jingle bell wreaths. They’re simple, elegant and extremely quick to throw together!
This little wreath is very versatile. From hanging on an interior door knob or furniture piece, to using with your gift wrap, it’s such a fun décor item for your home this Christmas. I even had a little fun teasing Miss Ruby with it, ha!
DIY Jingle Bell Wreath How-To
Items Needed:
- 34-36 (.75” size) Jingle Bells
- Picture Frame Wire
- Needle Nose Pliers
- 1” Velvet or Satin Ribbon
Instructions:
- Using pliers, fold over one end of your picture frame wire.
- Feed jingle bells onto wire. Bells should be tight against each other, facing in different directions to give a full look.
- Continue to place the bells onto the wire until there is just an inch or inch and a half of wire left. Feed the end of the wire through the looked wire on the other end, creating a closed wreath. Wrap the two ends tightly.
- Cut a 12″-16″ piece of velvet or satin ribbon and tie around the bottom of the wreath where the two ends met and make a box.
- Hang your wreath and enjoy!
You can make this wreath as large or as small as you want. The larger the wreath, the larger your jingle bell should be in order for the wreath to hold its shape. I’m really looking forward to making a larger wreath some time soon, maybe for our dining rom. They’re very affordable to make, so making more than one is very doable.
You can easily make this wreath to fit your style. Jingle bells and ribbon can be found in a number of colors at most craft stores. Make it as traditional or as modern as you want!
Whether you’re knee deep in the Christmas décor or just in the planning phase, I hope you’ll find inspiration in today’s post. Growing up my mom was a strictly no Christmas décor until after Thanksgiving person. I’ve always been the opposite, up until a few years ago. I found it hard to find the inspiration to get going, but not this year! I’ve been chomping at the bit since before Halloween. Some years you just need it more than others. That’s okay friends. I say décor when you’re ready, because that’s the most enjoyable time to do it!
Be sure to hop over to the other festive décor ideas. There’s a project for every style! Have a great rest of your week friends and happy decorating!
