Hello friends! A couple of weeks ago, I shared my printable nutcracker ornaments. Today, I want to share those same nutcracker images made into tags for your gift wrapping this Christmas season. If you’re coming over from Happy Happy Nester, welcome! I’m so glad you’re here! It’s all about the wrapping for this post!
Wrapping gifts each Christmas is such a joy for me. I pick an afternoon or evening, start a Christmas movie, gather a few gifts to wrap and have a merry old time! I love mixing colors, papers and ribbons. I also like to use a combination of store-bought and homemade gift tags. The nutcracker ornaments were such a hit that I thought they’d be perfect as gift tags!
I simply scaled the ornament prints down in size to make a 3” tag size. You can certainly use the printable ornaments as tags as well. They would work great for larger gifts!
Instructions:
- Download and print my free Nutcracker Gift Tags.
- Cut out each tag and use a hole punch at the top to attach to ribbon later.
- Apply a thin line of glue around the edges of the tag.
- Immediately, sprinkle the glass glitter along the edges.
- Carefully pick up the tag and dump excess glitter off. Lay flat too dry.
- Use the back of the tag to write to and from and attach to your gifts using ribbon.
I won’t into detail about glass glitter here again. You can read all about it in my DIY nutcracker ornament post. The glass glitter is optional with these tags, however I do think they add that special something.
I’m not a big fan of writing on the front of gift tags, so I simply turn the tag over to write to and from.
These are so simple to make, so they’re a great project for the kiddos to help with. Feel free to use any glitter that you have that coordinates with your wrapping. They take just an hour or so to make and will dry within just a couple of hours.
Be sure to hop over to the next blog and say hi. There’s so many creative and pretty gift tag ideas. Have a gI wish you all a merry Christmas!

Hi Marie

These are adorable! At first glance, I thought they were trimmed in silver pipe cleaner. While not as elegant as the glitter it might be a good alternative for those not wanting to deal with the glitter. Merry Christmas!
