I hope you all had a great weekend and start to a new week! J and I had the pleasure of hosting a cookout for nearly forty family members, several who are in town from Australia. It was wonderful to spend quality time with each of them yet exhausting. I’m thinking a laid back week is in order!
Speaking of laid back weeks . . . No cozy living room is complete without a soft spot to throw up you feet. We traded our old blue coffee table for this tufted beauty. It was one of the most easy things I’ve built and one that I’m loving more and more each day.
You can find my step by step tutorial on BuildSomething.com today! Even if you’re not in the market to build a coffee table they have so many wonderful building plans that are bound to fit anyone’s style and needs.
I really did like our previous coffee table with the exception of the color. I considered repainting it but in the end I knew that an upholstered table was what I really wanted. I have upholstered headboards in the past and always loved the tufted look. It’s such a clean and classic style.
I went with a gray linen look alike fabric. I absolutely love linen but it can be tricky to keep clean. With my three year old son jumping around I knew it would not be the best choice for our family room.
You can find this same fabric at Joann’s.

I hope you all have a great week and happy building!
