Are you ready for the Christmas season? Here are a few simple ideas for early holiday decor to give your home a festive feel!
What a week it’s been, friends. I had plans last December to hold off on any Christmas decor until the week of Thanksgiving but given everything that has happened this year, I just really wanted to break out all of the pretty holiday decor early. I think that sometimes you just need a little sparkle to lift your spirit! Today, as part of the cozy living series, I’m giving you a peek into my office. This week I added a few early holiday touches to the room that I think are just the right amount of festive.
Our cozy living series is all about creating a cozy and warm home. My office is where I spend a lot of my time during the week, so giving this space a little Christmas magic was a must. It’s a place where I can be creative and get inspired.
If you’re curious to see what this room looked like when we purchased our home, you can see the before and after here. While I still need to paint the crown molding and address the closet, this room has had a major breath of fresh air through it. It’s truly the office space that I dreamed of for many years.
When it comes to decorating for the difference seasons, I like to stick with simple touches. Swapping out pillow covers is a great way to bring in the new season. Christmas decor doesn’t have to be in reds and greens. For this room I stuck with creams, light golds, pale blue and sage.
A simple pom pom wreath over my desk was a fun project and it gives the room a feminine feel.
Earlier this week I shared how I made my pom pom garland. You can find my tutorial here. I hung mine over my wrapping station but you could certainly use it on your Christmas tree, shelves or even on a headboard. It’s such a fun and versatile garland.
Our wrapping paper station definitely gets the most use durning the holidays. I’m a huge fan of pretty papers and satin ribbons. The secretaries desk folds down, creating the perfect place to wrap gifts. I get asked a lot where the paper and ribbon organizer is from. It was originally from pottery barn. I did paint it to match the built-ins and secretary desk. Sadly, it’s no long available. I haven’t found anything similar. If I do in the future, I’ll be sure to link it here.
I like to keep my office clutter-free most of the time, so just a couple of simple decor items are just enough. I’m still tweaking this space and plan on changing a couple of things before we get to Christmas, but I think it’s a nice start. It has me really looking forward to the holiday season.

Amanda, Love your office with the neutral touches. You need to come over and give me a hand with mine, LOL. I run our business from home and my office is never neat and tidy and it drives me crazy. I have office staff so I guess I can’t blame it all on myself. The perfect touch is the picnic basket with ornaments, it’s just the right amount of sparkle.
