Have you made your Christmas cookies yet? Some of us are on our 10th batch. There’s just something about this time of the year that has my cookie crazy. I can’t explain it. All I know is that I can’t get enough. I don’t know what I love more eating them or making them! My son shares my love for decorating cookies too. He’s been by my side each time waiting anxiously with his sprinkles. My favorite baking project we’ve done this season is our sugar cookie tree.
This is such a great recipe to get your little ones involved in. Charlie was able to cut out most of the stairs for me and once they were baked and cooled, we decorated them with simple white royal icing.
We used Madi’s sugar cookie and royal icing recipe here. These are some of the easiest cookies I’ve mixed up. They baked beautifully and taste great!
Although we don’t have mad skills piping icing just yet, its getting better. As long as they taste good, right? Once the icing has completely dried, you just stack them. We decided to dust them with a little powdered sugar for a bit of a snowy effect.
The tree was almost too cute to eat! This would also be a great treat to bag up and send a couple cookies home with each of your visitors this week if you’re over the sweets. How do you celebrate the week of Christmas? If you love cookies as much as we do I’ve provided the links to each item below. You still have time to order through Amazon to receive it in time to bake before Christmas!
We’ve have a busy week ahead of us. Full of grocery shopping, last minute gift shopping I’m sure, Christmas parties and baking. It’s a magical week and full of time with family and friends. I hope you also have a wonderful week and Christmas day friends!
