As I’m typing I’m finding it hard to believe that summer is upon us already. It seems just like yesterday I was eagerly waiting for my cherry blossoms to bloom. Summers in our home are very easy going. They’re all about time outside, late movie nights and fun little day trips. To be honest, not a lot of decorating goes on in our house and projects seem to slow down. The little bit of decorating that I do is very simple with no frills. I tend to gravitate towards light neutrals with pops or blue and green. Come on in and take a look at our no fuss summer kitchen tour!
I don’t do a ton of baking during the summer months. It gets pretty hot here in Georgia without running the stove all the time. I try to whip up a batch of homemade muffins and or pancakes on Sunday for us to munch on throughout the week. It makes mornings especially easy.
I swapped out my pastel spring pillow covers for these block print covers with bright blues and greens. A good deep cleaning and some decluttering goes a long way in the breakfast nook.

We planted two hydrangeas last year and since they’re doing so well and have more than doubled in size we planted two more this year. I can’t wait to have cut hydrangeas all summer long. I’ll keep ya posted on how the new bushes do. We also planted a butterfly bush and a couple gardenias. I love stepping out onto our patio and smelling the sweet gardenia blooms.
I always try to keep the counter tops clean and clutter free. I do like to keep fresh flowers around throughout the season though. Simple stock flowers are some of my favorite.
Im so glad you stopped by! I’d love to know if you decorate for summer and if so, what’s some of your favorite decor to incorporate?
I hope you’ll hope over to the homes of a few friends of mine. They’re sure to inspire!

Please don’t apologize. Thanks for the tour.
Is that an olive bucket with wood on the handle? Where can I purchase this.
I decorate with red, white, blue inside and outside. Don’t think it is over the top. tastefully done.
I am a red girl, so this is automatic selection, plus honoring those Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day.
Immediately following Labor Day we switch to fall – lots of leaves and white pumpkins.
Thanks for a lovely tour!

I love your simple style. My kitchen benches always look so cluttered!! I need to to get them looking more like yours! What a wonderful idea to have the flowers arranged in the bucket. Off to find a suitable bucket! Thank you so much for sharing your lovely space.

I feel the same about neutrals with pops of blue and green- perfection!! Your home is lovely and so calming. We planted hydrangeas last year, too. Although, yours sound like they might be doing better than ours- doubled in size, wow!! Thank you for letting us visit your home and hear your thoughts on summer decorating. I am always so inspired by you, Amanda!
