Today is the first look into our spring home tour and I’m starting off with our simple and minimalist spring bedroom. If you’re coming over from Jenna Kate At Home, welcome. I’m so glad you’re here! If you follow Josh and I on Instagram you may know that we have a master bathroom renovation under way. With that comes a few challenges. One of them has been keeping the dust down to a minimum and the mess contained to the bathroom. One way I’ve been surviving the last month or two is by keeping our bedroom decor very simple. I lean on a classic and simple style most of the time anyways so it hasn’t been too difficult and our spring tour is no exception.
I recently stripped our antique high boy dresser of it’s orange stain and left it with a more natural wax finish. I love the light feel of it. With just some colorful stem flowers, basket for extra storage, and a sweet brass bird, it’s the perfect amount of spring without feeling too cluttered.

I love how fresh this season can be. It’s such a comfort to see greenery again and to wake up to birds outside singing. I’ve kept the bedside table pretty neat with just a small stack of magazines for evening reading, an antique urn for holding jewelry and of course some potted spring flowers.
Like last year, I’m using my vintage inspired floral duvet. It’s a fairly weighted so paired with our lightweight quilt it’s the perfect amount of layers for these in-between seasons. Most of the year I use very classic bedding, stripes, checks and solid white but in the spring I love the soft colored florals. It’s a nice way to lift the space after the cold winter months.
I swapped out our white chair cover for our pale blue cover. It’s such a soft blue, quite perfect for this time of the year. I don’t typically share this chair because it’s normally on the opposite wall beside our TV. It gets covered quite a bit with clothing but since I moved it to the opposite wall it’s been kept clothes free. I’d say that’s a win!
I’m loving our simple spring touches. You don’t have to have a lot of stuff for a space to feel decorated. I’ve been very picky with what we do have and I think it’s just enough. The best part being that I’m not stressed trying to keep the room clean during the renovation. With just some soft floral linens and colorful blooms it’s just the touches you need for a subtle and minimalist spring bedroom. Such a pretty and relaxing space! I absolutely love the dresser. I have a few wood pieces that I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with. The stripping might be perfect!
