Summers are such a great time to set the table and entertain. This simple lemon centerpiece for summer is just the perfect touch and takes only minutes to create!
If it wasn’t for the hot temperatures that arrived this weekend I wouldn’t believe it was finally summer. One of my favorite things about the season is that we have more free time and manage to entertain family and friends a little more. I’m thrilled to be joining a few of my blogging buddies to bring you a fun summer tablescape, hosted by my sweet friend Alicia from A Burst of Beautiful. Whether we’re BBQing outside or gathered in the breakfast nook, our sunny lemon centerpiece is the perfect touch to any summer table.
Our breakfast nook is one of my favorite rooms in our home. You may have noticed that the last couple of table settings I’ve shared have been all set in our breakfast nook. On dining room just received an update and while I’m dying to share it with you, we just can’t help but to gather around our kitchen table. The natural lighting is wonderful in this room and it’s so perfectly cozy! Although this is a smaller, more intimate table, you could certainly use this setting on a larger scale as well.
I’m not sure there’s much that’s summer more than lemons and blueberries. I love how cheerful blues and yellows are. They’re a match made in heaven when it comes to summer styling.
One of our favorite summer desserts and well, any time desserts is panna cotta. It’s an Italian custard-like dessert that pairs beautifully with fresh fruit. We typically top ours with chopped strawberries or blueberries, sometimes both. It’s served cold and is very creamy and light, perfect for those summer days. Here’s our homemade vanilla panna cotta recipe.
For the lemon centerpiece all you need is a small cake stand or serving dish, a couple of bags of lemons and a bundle of small flowers such as daisies. The small individual flowers from hydrangeas would also work great.
You just stack the lemons onto your cake stand or plate and fill in the gaps with pretty flowers. Daisies work so well for this because they will look pretty all day long out of water without wilting.
Braided place mats and a simple linen table runner give the table a nature and easy-going feel and a colorful dessert is the perfect topper for each place setting. We also love to use bowls of fresh fruit as well.
Summers can be busy and just as crazy as the rest of the year but always save time to unwind and enjoy time with loved ones. I hope that you find inspiration today to kick start your summer off in a fun way! Be sure to stop by and say hello to the other talented ladies sharing today. There’s so much summer inspiration to be had. I can’t wait to check them all out myself! Have a wonderful summer, friends!

Love the blue and yellow together! I grew up in a Swedish town so blue and yellow was always a popular color combo. The daisies are a perfect addition and YES to panna cotta! I love it too!
