This clubhouse bed has been a long time coming for us. This was a build that we’ve wanted to do ever since we’ve moved into our house. We’re lucky to have really good sized bedrooms in our home. What I love about this bed other than our son loving it is that it provides even more play space underneath. His room feels even bigger than before! If your bedrooms are on the smaller size a loft bed is a great way to provide extra play space. You can find our building plans on Build Something.com to make your own. You’ve probably seen the adorable loft & clubhouse beds from Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware. However, the price tags are not so adorable. I knew it wouldn’t cost us near as much to make a loft bed ourselves. Here’s what we came up with.
I originally put a canvas roof on the bed using a drop clothe. I really loved the feel but it was too washed out with the white bed. Had I stained the bed, it would have been great! So just an FYI this bed is very versatile.
We left the back side of the roof open to allow better air flow and we added star lights just for fun. I did a simple white wash with Valspar’s furniture paint in Benjamin Moore’s Decorators White. The roof is Benjamin Moore’s Graphite.
One of the best parts of this build is that it only cost around $200 to make. It was well worth it. Charlie doesn’t want to leave his room now. I see hours of play in his future! Have a wonderful week friends and happy fall!

Hi Lauren, it’s been quite a while now so I’m not completely positive but if my memory serves me right I believe it was around $150. I hope that helps.
