Why is it so much more fun to build things for kids? Maybe it brings our the child in me but J and I have way too much fun coming up with builds for kids spaces. Our newest building plans are for this modern farmhouse kids kitchen set. When I received the Pottery Barn Kids Christmas catalog a couple months ago I was so inspired! They have so many adorable play kitchens to choose from. They range in price from $650-$900. That price tag is probably out of the question for a lot of people. I’m pleased to say this set only came in around $150! It was a super quick build which makes it perfect for Christmas.

My son Charlie is 100% all boy however, he loves helping in the kitchen. It doesn’t matter if we’re whipping up some quick muffins or making pasta he’s right beside me wanting to help. So while he’s not running around in his Batman costume fighting crime, he’s making dinner for us all! Our free building plans are available on Build Something.
We chose to do a upper fridge and lower freeze door. It makes it a little more fun.
The eyes of the stove are just wooden round cutouts from the craft store. I chose to not glue them down so that they can be moved for more counter top space.
This is a great first project for a beginner to build and you still have plenty of time to get yours built before Christmas! You can find the plans here. While you’re at BuildSomething.com take a look around. They have so many great free plans to build just about anything.
Have a wonderful week friends and a very Merry Christmas!
