One of the places that my little family spends a lot of time in is our kitchen. It really is the heart of our home. It just so happens to be one of my favorite rooms to decorate. It doesn’t take much to add spring touches in the kitchen. I wanted to share with you guys today what I’ve done so far to welcome spring into this space. I’m thrilled to be joining a few talented friends of mine to share their spring kitchens as well. I hope you’ll be inspired.
Let’s take a look at the kitchen before I worked a little magic. Not bad, just a little blah. The winter blues were showing well in the room.

In the breakfast nook I still had my warmer colored covers on the throw pillows and it needed a little cheer.
One of my favorite ways to add charm to a space or way to ring in a new season is with fresh flowers. If I don’t have any from my yard to bring in, I pick them up from Trader Joe’s on my weekly grocery run. These’s white stock flowers are a delicate touch and only cost around $3 a bundle. I have collected several vases and things to place flowers in. This is where you can get creative!
These lovely and bright Forsythia were clipped from my yard. They add a nice pop of color to the room.
I’m not one who particularly loves doing dishes. My dish washer really is my best friend in the kitchen but for those items that I hand wash I like to use a scented soap that incorporates the current season. Williams Sonoma has some of my favorite seasonal scents, White Gardenia being one of them. The whole kitchen will smell like a garden before you’re finished washing. I promise!
I added a couple baskets of flowers here and there. As summer approaches I swap them out for some simple greenery.
Breakfast nook has some fresh pillow covers in a spring green check. I threw a little vignette together using everyday dishes and silverware. I did a little shelf decluttering. I’m always inspired to declutter after the first of the year. Less is more most of the time. They’re now fresh and clean!
Another basket of fresh blooms and a little wooden bunny make for the perfect spring decor. You can find both of these bunnies at Hobby Lobby.
I can’t wait to start my spring baking. It’s amazing how fresh a space can be with just a few simple touches. I love that spring is simple that way. I know I’m not the only one who feels the same way. If you’re racking your brains for spring mantel ideas hop over and see my simple and classic spring mantel that I shared yesterday. I wish you a happy spring friends!

Amanda, I love every square inch of your home! Your kitchen looks so fresh and spring-like. I never thought to get dish soap from Williams-Sonoma and I love the smell of gardenias … so I know where I’ll be shopping this weekend! Thanks so much for joining the tour!
Such beautiful and springy touches! I adore your kitchen and the cabinetry colour and counters – it is so warm and welcoming, and you’ve made it even more beautiful with your spring styling!
Oh Amanda, I simply adore everything about your kitchen, it’s perfectly dressed for Spring! <3 Forsythia is on my want list for our property this year, it's so wonderful and bright and just stunning on your island.
Thank you so much Laurie! I’m hoping to get a couple more planted. It’s such a great stem to bring inside because it’ll keep fresh for a couple weeks once cut, love it!
Everything looks SO inviting — LOVE that vase the stock on your kitchen table is in!!! Can you please share where you purchased it?
Julie
Thank you so much, Julie! I purchased that from Michael’s craft store a number of years ago. I haven’t looked lately, but I have seen them in Homegoods in the past as well.
