Today is a very exciting day for me. Not only am I sharing some of my spring touches around the house, but I’m also revealing our finished or almost finished family room. Our family room has been a work in progress since we moved in a couple months ago. It’s come so far and I couldn’t sleep last night in anticipation of finally sharing it with you all.
I know this is slightly unconventional for blog hops but I wanted to remind you what the space looked like before we got our hands on it.
This photo was taken during the cleaning process of the house before we moved in. It’s a large room but was difficult to tell before.
Here we are today.
With a soothing, creamy off-white wall color paired with the wood floors and a dark grey fireplace mantel for drama, the room looks completely different!
I love adding greenery to a space whenever possible. It’s a great way to bring nature inside.
The use of different textures make a neutral space feel cozy. Layering is always your friend!
No spring home is complete without tulips. I really can’t get enough of these guys this time of year. It’s rare for me not to have a bouquet sitting someplace in my house in the spring.
Now onto the kitchen. Shall we?
We have a lot of cabinet space in this kitchen, something I was totally lacking in our last house. God answers prayers people! I chose to leave this wall of cabinets open to create a light and clean feel. It’s the perfect storage/display area for all my favorite white dishes.
I’m not revealing the whole kitchen renovation just yet. You’ll have to come back in a couple weeks for the full scoop ;).
I went simple in the breakfast nook, nothing fancy. Again, I tried to bring a more natural feel to the place settings.
There’s those faux antique books again. Did you check out the easy tutorial? They’re simple yet charming.
I’m so glad you stopped by and I hope I was able to inspire you a little. The spring is such a fun time to freshen up your home. It’s all about new beginnings and I say, try something new and different this year in your home. It’s always fun to freshen up a room or two. Don’t worry I haven’t forgotten the giveaway people. First take a look at the other blogs on your tour. Oh and happy St. Patrick’s day friends!
