A little fact about myself, I love change. When it comes to the house that is. I’m one of those who likes to move things around, maybe a little too much. I find myself getting a little uninspired and stir crazy when things are the same for too long. I find it refreshing to switch up the throw pillows, decor and furniture. One thing that I look for when shopping for our home are pieces that are versatile. I want to be able to use that item in more than one place in our house. I like to know that I can move a furniture piece from one room to another and that it’ll still have a function. I recently moved the end table from our family room into our master bedroom to provide space for our Christmas tree. I liked it so much in our bedroom that I haven’t moved it back to the family room. After the Christmas decorations were put back in the attic I moved a few things around and realized that we could really use some more storage options. After shopping around I found what is now my favorite baskets that just so happens to make the perfect end table alternative!

The great thing about these Savannah baskets is that they lidded and provided so much needed storage in our family room. With this colder than normal weather we’ve had I’ve been able to store a couple extra throws in the large basket and the top basket is perfect for magazines and remotes.
They stack on top of each other making for the perfect end table. The best part, they can be used in several different spots in our home. I’ve already planned a couple places for them to go when I decided I’m ready for a change. For now they’re sitting right at home as our end table. I love the causal feel they add. This month is all about staying warm and cozy and the basket texture just adds a little extra warmth to the room.
The great thing about end tables is that you can use so many different things to create one, an old step ladder, vintage suitcases, and so on. Do you have an unusual end table? I’d love to know what your favorite is!
P.S. I’ve been hard at work on my home office this month (which was not on my house goals this year.) and I’m dying to share my progress with you guys. I recently decided to switch the unfinished guest room and my unfinished office around. J came home from work and the two rooms were completely swapped. I’m pretty sure he was shocked I moved it all on my own. Just imagine me pushing a queen size mattress down the hall… it went much like you’re picturing, ha! My five year old thought it was great. He couldn’t believe we would do such a thing without daddy. My poor hubby has no idea what to expect when he comes home. There’s never a dull moment around here, friends. Hopefully later this week I get a few pictures posted of what I’ve done so far and what I’m planning. Until then, have a great week!
