Here’s a look at our favorite rattan cart used 3 different ways in our home. From a bar cart, to bedside table and tub caddy, I think you’re going to love this versatile piece too!
Today I want to share a few ideas using one of the most versatile items I absolutely love. This rattan cart from Serena & Lily has quickly become one of my favorite pieces. I’ve only had it less than a year but I’ve have already found several ways to use it throughout our home. Although there are so many ways to use this adorable cart, today I’m going to share three way that I’ve used it and styled it in our home.
There’s just something about a rattan cart that adds so much character to a room. For the last couple of years I had been on the look out for a vintage one. I’ve always found them to be adorable and knew that a rattan cart would look right at home in our house. I loved this rattan cart from Serena & Lily but wasn’t so keen on the price tag. I wish I could say I found this at a thrift store or at crazy amazing price, but after hunting for quite some time, I decided to just bite the bullet and order it. Honestly, I’m so glad I did because it’s perfect! It’s such a versatile piece and one that we’ll be able to enjoy for years to come.
One thing that I noticed right away with this cart was how sturdy it is. It is not rickety in the slightest. Some rattan carts I’ve looked at in the past were a bit shaky and I wasn’t confident they would hold up. Not this one! It can hold it’s own just fine and don’t worry. This isn’t a sponsored post. I just really love this pieces, so I wanted to share! I think it’s something that you would love too. Rattan carts are very classic and fit the traditional style really well. They’re also work well in bohemian and mid century styles
Bar Cart
Okay, so pretty obvious, right? In the past I have used a rattan basket to keep our bar items together (you can see that set up HERE as well as the late summer floral arrangement that I shared last week) and have used that basket in our dining room and in the back corner of our family room, beside the kitchen. I recently switched to this cart and I love that it has more than enough space and is all contained to one area. It’s on wheels which makes it so easy to move as needed.
I’ve really grown to love this little corner. It has such a sweet view of our foyer and beloved family photos.
Bathroom Towel & Accessories Caddy
These carts work so well in a bathroom. It fits perfectly beside our tub in our master bath, so it’s well within reach from the tub. It can hold several towels and any bath salts, soap or shampoo and conditioner you may have. It’s also a great place to keep a couple of good books for when you’re soaking.
I’m in love with all of the textures here. The natural rattan fits in just perfectly!
Nightstand/Bedside Table
Originally I had order this cart to use as a bedside table in our guest room. I really didn’t think that I would find so many other uses for it, but it truly makes a great bedside table for guests. The bottom shelf serves as storage for extra blankets and it is large enough to hold the things that our guest may need.
I love the rattan against the deep green ways in this room. It adds great texture and charm to the space.
This cart can be used for many different things. A few other ideas include an outdoor tea cart, plant stand or office caddy. If you own a rattan cart I’d love to hear how you are utilizing it in your home. Purchasing items that can be used for more than one purpose is always a win in my book! As always friend, have a great week and happy decorating!
The bar cart is lovely! What a versatile piece. Your home has the style I love. I would feel right at home there
Thank you so much Gail! It has been such a fun piece to style. I try to keep things as cozy as possible around here. I love the motto, it’s decorated but lived in!
What a lovely piece. I like all three uses. I might want more than one of them. Haha.
Karen
Thanks Karen! It’s such a useful little cart. I’m with you on that! I’ve been seriously considering purchasing a second one.
Amanda, I can’t get the link to work on the cart, can you check on it?
Ah! Of course the link didn’t stick. Sorry about that Sarah! It should be working now. There is also a link towards the bottom in the shop the post carrousel.
Loving this! What is the wall color you used? I love that deep shade.
This is so amusing to me! I just bought an older tea cart at a local antique store for $35. It’s brass with a glass tops and lower shelf. The brass is made to look like bamboo. It wasn’t in terrific shape, but I’ve cleaned it up and fallen in love with it. I’m debating about painting it, but right now I love it just the way it is. What’s amusing is I just googled ways to style a tea cart. I got some good ideas. Then I opened your post and found lots more ideas. Thanks so much! I also have a tea cart that I bought at an estate sale a few years ago, and have it on our patio. I’m beginning to think I have a thing for tea carts. 🤣
