We haven’t started decorating for Christmas quite yet. We’re still very much enjoying all the autumn season has to offer, but I want to share a few things that we love and use each Christmas season. It’s a great time to purchase all those decor items that you want to use this Christmas. All of the items that I’m sharing with you today are things that are still available for purchase or things that you can make from home. I love shopping for timeless Christmas decor for our home, but we always love and look forward to using the decor that we already have and like to find ways to change it up for a fresh look.
Here are our home’s 2021 Christmas tours – Foyer, Living Room , Kitchen & Breakfast Nook, Master Bedroom and Charlie’s Room.
My Favorite Christmas Decor
Charlie’s Collected Christmas Tree
Charlie’s Christmas tree has always been a favorite of mine. His room is always extra sweet during the holiday season. Over the years my mom and I have purchased special ornaments for his tree. My hopes is that one day he will take the ornaments with him and use them in his own home. I purchased this particular Christmas tree for him two or three years ago and it quickly become one of my favorite trees! It has such a sweet and realistic shape to it. It was very affordable and it just happens to be 50% off this week! You can purchase this tree HERE. Check out all the other details of his Christmas bedroom HERE.
Charlie’s DIY Christmas Tree Drum Collar
A few years ago I made this this drum tree collar for Charlie’s tree. After searching high and low for an affordable collar similar to this, gave up and made one. HERE is my how-to to make your own. I love getting to use this year after year in his room. You can use this tutorial to make whatever size collar you need, so it’s very versatile!
European Christmas Cookies with Wooden Molds
Last year I received a wooden cookie mold from my sweet friend Samantha from Tuckamore Homestead to make these beautiful European Christmas cookies. This year she’s sent me two more and I couldn’t be more excited! Her molds are stunning and can be used from making cookies, to chocolates, to even ornaments for your tree. I can’t wait to use these again this year and share what I come up with! You can shop the wooden molds here and you can get my recipes and tutorial for these cookies here.
Our Chunky Knitted Stockings
Knitted stockings are one of those things that will be forever timeless. Each year I love them more and more. These stockings are heavy duty and are nicely lined on the inside. For those who knit, you can easily make your own, but for those who can not, these are still available to purchase! You can shop our stockings here. You can find the details on the rest of our Christmas living room here.
Full Faux Garland
I was lucky enough to purchased two stands of this faux garland a couple of years ago at the Ballard’s outlet store for just $20 each. At the time it did not come lighted. The garland is still available and now comes with lights! I’m usually not a faux garland person, but I love how full this one is. I’m thinking I’m going to put it in the same spot as well. I loved the focal point that it added to our bedroom last year. You can shop this garland here. You can also see the rest of our Christmas bedroom here.
DIY Tabletop Nutcracker Tree
Last year I made several nutcracker gift tags and offered the printable and how-to here on the blog. I later took those gift tags and just increased their size and added them to my faux tabletop tree. That little tree made me so happy that I’ll be using it again this year. It comes in two sizes. I have the smaller 3’ tree. It’s currently one sale and can be purchased here. The free nutcracker ornaments can be found here.
Special Wrapping Papers
I’ve had a love affair with pretty gift wrap that dates back to when I was a child. Wrapping presents while watching a Christmas movie is one of my favorite things to do during this season. I find it to be incredible therapeutic. I’ve used all kinds of papers but my favorite places to find pretty and unique gift wrap is JSH, Ballards, and Dogwood Hill. Each of these sources also has matching gift tags. I usually purchase my satin and velvet ribbons from Hobby Lobby when they’re 40% off. I don’t purchase them in the holiday ribbon section, but the sewing and fabric section. This year I’ve already ordered this paper, this paper and this paper in preparation for the upcoming season. I may even be working on some paper and tags of my own. I hope you have the 12 Days of Christmas themed papers and tags ready for you in under two weeks.
Mercury Glass Ornament Garland
A few years ago now I bought this string of garland with mercury glass ornaments. I had no idea just how much I would love it. It has been all over our home, from the foyer, to the living room and bedrooms. It’s absolutely timeless and goes right along with my mercury glass obsession that I have. It’s one of my most loved holiday decor purchases I ever made. You can find it sold in different places but PB seems to have one that’s of good quality. You can shop it here and see more of last year’s Christmas foyer here.
New Things I’m Using This Year
I have a couple of new things I’m using this year in my decor. A few weeks ago I came across these adorable throw pillows in Target. I’m not a big fan of the front, but the back is beautiful. I plan of cutting the cheesy twine tassels off of mine. I love that these are covers and can be removed for washing.
I also picked this sweet, mini berry wreath. I plan to add some velvet or satin ribbon to it. I think it would be great to hang on a sconce or in the kitchen.
The Kings of Christmas has asked me to decorate a tree of my choice this year. I’m thrilled to use their flocked queen tree. It’s slim in size, so perfect for smaller spaces. Charlie has begged me to put it in his room. We’re excited to get it up at decorated soon!
I wish you all a lovely Thanksgiving and Christmas season! Always remember that at the end of the day it doesn’t matter how much or how little we decorate our homes. What matters is that we joyfully open our homes and spend time with the ones we love. The stuff will always come and go. Our family and friends are the real treasure. Have a wonderful weekend, friends!

Love each of your ideas and favorite things. I can see why! I think my two faves are the fabulous wood molds your friend sent and the way your decorated and hung the garland on your mantel. All so stunning. And what a steal of a deal on the garland from Ballard! That never happens to me. Happy November.

This was perfectly timed. I’m focused on Thanksgiving and a family visit from our kids that live in Austin. So, while I think of Christmas this time of year, I needed some inspiration to get organized for the upcoming rush of the season. Thank you. I appreciate your links to where to find some of the pretties in your Christmas decorations.
